Forklift Training Courses

All our courses are designed to meet the requirements placed upon employers with regard to their duties under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974; the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER); the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER), as applicable and other relevant regulations and codes of practice

On successful completion the course members will be able to:

  • Operate the truck model used during the training course, safely and correctly in accordance with the manufacturers operator procedures manual and in accepted good operating practices.
  • Show their understanding, by clearly stating the causes of instability of trucks and loads.
  • Carry out correctly the routine pre-use inspection of the lift truck in accordance with the manufacturers operator procedures manual.

Refresher Forklift Training Course: 1 day / 3 candidates

To provide effective basic operator refresher training for those operator's who have earlier been given adequate formal basic operator training and who are appropriately certificated to operate industrial counterbalanced lift trucks.This operator training course is designed to meet the requirements placed upon employers with regard to their duties under the HEALTH and SAFETY AT WORK ACT 1974; the PROVISION and USE of WORK EQUIPMENT REGULATIONS 1998 (PUWER); the LIFTING OPERATIONS and LIFTING EQUIPMENT REGULATIONS 1998 (LOLER), as applicable and other relevant regulations and codes of practice.

Brief Course Outcomes:

On successful completion of this operator refresher-training course, the course members will be able to:

Operate the truck model used during the training course, safely and correctly in accordance with the manufacturer's operator procedures manual and in accepted good operating practices.
Show their understanding, by clearly stating the causes of instability of trucks and loads.
carry out correctly the routine pre-use inspection and take-over maintenance of the truck in accordance with the manufacturer's operator procedures manual.

Existing Forklift Operator Training Course: 2.5 days / 3 candidates (guide only)

This course is aimed at delegates who have the experience of operating an FLT and use this on a regular basis but have not yet received any formal training. The aim of this experienced course is to provide effective basic operator training for those operator's who will be required to operate industrial counterbalanced trucks, rider-operated as part of their normal work duties. This operator training course is designed to meet the requirements placed upon employers with regard to their duties under the HEALTH and SAFETY AT WORK ACT 1974; the PROVISION and USE of WORK EQUIPMENT REGULATIONS 1998 (PUWER); the LIFTING OPERATIONS and LIFTING EQUIPMENT REGULATIONS 1998 (LOLER), as applicable and other relevant regulations and codes of practice.

Novice Forklift Training Course: 5 days / 3 candidates (guide only)

To provide effective basic operator training for those operator's who will be required to operate industrial counterbalanced, rider-operated as part of their normal work duties. This operator training course is designed to meet the requirements placed upon employers with regard to their duties under the HEALTH and SAFETY AT WORK ACT 1974; the PROVISION and USE of WORK EQUIPMENT REGULATIONS 1998 (PUWER); the LIFTING OPERATIONS and LIFTING EQUIPMENT REGULATIONS 1998 (LOLER), as applicable and other relevant regulations and codes of practice.

Conversion Forklift Training Courses :

For operators wishing to convert from one truck type to another.

All the above courses are for a maximum of 3 candidates per course and can be tailored to suit your individual requirements.

A significant reduction in course durations can be made where the Operator does not require instruction when:

  • Working in Industrial Racking
  • Loading and unloading transport vehicles
  • Stacking/De-stacking free standing stacks
  • Bulk Stacking
  • Operating on ramps and inclines
  • Stacking at Eye level
  • Stacking at High level
